Peace Here Now
Hey friend. This particular season has been a lot. We are navigating big teenager stuff, grieving the passing of Mike’s dad, grieving the passing of a beloved brother in Christ and a fellow deputy sheriff with Mike, and other griefs. Spring is in full bloom, and I keep thinking of the lines from T. S. Eliot’s The Wasteland, “April is the cruelest month…” (Yes, I know it’s March, but my daffodils have already bloomed their brilliant yellows and my plum trees’ blooms have already blown off in the breeze. California life.) Sometimes life keeps marching onward, and we aren’t yet ready for it.
I’ve spent so much time on my knees in prayer this winter. I have felt overwhelmed by the sheer number of things out of my control. My PTSD has been triggered a few times. I’ve had to remember everything I know about the peace of God that surpasses understanding.
I’ve had to remember that the peace of God doesn’t depend upon my control. It depends upon resting in God’s sovereignty. He is in control.
Maybe you are facing big things too? Maybe you are struggling to keep your head above water? Maybe you are longing for peace in your heart and home?
First, it would be my greatest honor to pray with you.
Second, I have a FREE RESOURCE I created for new subscribers to my list that I wanted to share with you. It’s a one-page document that you can print out and put wherever you need it or save to your phone’s notes app so it’s with you. It has practical ways to walk in peace NOW and scriptures you can pray over yourself and your loved ones. Here’s the link to the FREE pdf download: “WHATEVER IS” DOWNLOAD
Third, TOMORROW (3/13-3/14) I am speaking at the Heart and Home Retreat.
It’s an online retreat for women. One day focuses on our hearts. One day focuses on our homes. It’s meant to be gentle and encouraging. Each speaker loves Jesus, has practical wisdom, and is rooted in gospel truth.
Here’s what you can expect:
It’s only $14 to attend. (Or you can get the all-access pass for $49 with extra freebies and the ability to watch it when you want as often as you want).
Guys, I can’t wait for you to hear my talk on peace. I first gave this talk at my church’s women’s retreat last year. It’s grounded in the good news of the gospel and does not shy away from real struggles with worries, body dysmorphia, and clinical anxiety disorders.

That’s all I got for now. I am hoping to get back into a regular rhythm of posting here.
